FAQ - Sweat Testing
Sweat Testing

What is a sweat test?
A sweat test measures the sodium concentration in your sweat to help personalise your hydration strategy for training, competition, or work in the heat.
Do I need to prepare?
No preparation is required.
What should I bring?
Nothing—this is a completely exercise-free test.
What happens during the test?
Small electrodes are placed on your forearm, and a mild electrical current stimulates your sweat glands. Only a very small amount of sweat is needed to perform the analysis.
Is it uncomfortable?
The sensation is mild and well tolerated—most people describe it as a light tingling feeling.
How long does it take?
The test takes approximately 20–30 minutes.
What do I get from the test?
You’ll receive:
Your individual sweat sodium concentration
Personalised hydration recommendations
Guidance on fluid and electrolyte intake for training, racing, or hot environments
Who is this for?
Endurance athletes
Team sport athletes
Workers in hot conditions
Anyone wanting a more precise hydration strategy
Do I need to test more than once?
No—sweat sodium concentration is highly individual and remains relatively stable, so one test is typically sufficient.
